Class descriptions:

Gentle: Perfect for beginners, these classes focus on reducing stress and tension while learning the basics of alignment, breathing and yoga philosophy.

Mixed level: Includes a wide variety of postures and modifications to accommodate any level of experience. This class Includes vinyasa, standing, seated and inverted postures.

Restorative + Yin: a passive practice that focuses on remaining in relaxed seated and floor postures for 2-5 minutes at a time to relax and relieve deep tension in the body.

Hatha Yoga: A mixed-level class that focuses on breathing and asanas (postures). Derived from the Sanskrit words “ha” and “tha”--meaning sun and moon, respectively--Hatha Yoga strives to balance the opposing parts of the physical body: the front and back, left and right, and top and bottom. We will start by centering the mind with pranayams (breathing exercise) and then move into asanas (like sun salutations, warrior series, triangle, etc) to improve flexibility and balance. We will also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose by using our breath. We will end the practice with Shavasan (corpse pose) to become rejuvenated and energized for the rest of the day. Participants of all experience levels are welcome!

ShantiMom Prenatal Yoga: Prenatal Yoga Classes provide safe exercises designed to strengthen and relax your rapidly changing body, preparing you for a conscious childbirth and the opportunity for mother and child to bond prior to birth.

Mindful Explorations Yoga: Focus on breath and awareness as you explore asana (postures) with Heather Hewitt. This class provides opportunity for all levels to find mindfulness in practice. All levels of experience welcome!

Noontime Nurture: Devote time in the middle of your day to nurture your body, mind and spirit! This class will open with a centering meditation. Our practice will progress to gentle postures to warm the body. We will build toward standing and balancing postures to increase strength and stability. Emphasis will be on linking breath to each movement. Resettling, we will slow down and refocus on body awareness with finishing poses and rest in savasana. As you roll up your mat, you will feel relaxed, refreshed and ready for the second half of your day. All abilities are accepted and welcomed!

Yoga Mind, Body + Soul: Transition from your workday to a peaceful evening. We’ll practice breathing techniques and mindful movement followed by some longer holds to release tension. A guided meditation at the end will help you unwind and renew. Beginners are welcome!

A Balanced Flow Yoga: this class is a delightful balance between the Yin and Yang principles and postures of yoga. Flow with grace for about 1/2 of the class integrating sun salutes, standing postures, balance and flowing with the rhythm of breath. Then we will wind down by settling in to the more yin style practice where we hold the postures longer and settle deeper into the connective tissues to support healthy joints. This practice will send love through your body, increase flexibility, decrease stress…you’ll leave refreshed!! Aromatherapy inspired ~ Beginners welcome as modifications are offered.

Pranayams for Wellness: a classical Pranayama practice incorporating seven specific breathing practices to increase vitality, enhance mental clarity and improve overall health and wellbeing.

Strength and Flow Yoga: Strength and Flow Vinyasa combines dynamic, flowing sequences with sequences of holding poses to connect strength in stillness, energy in movement AND vitality in breath. Featuring elements of traditional Ashtanga yoga- including sun salutations, standing poses, preparation for arm balances, dynamic stretching and pranayama (breathwork), this class is designed to cultivate presence, build strength, aid balance and weight loss, and reduce stress. All levels welcome with modifications provided.

Yoga Retreat: Come take a break from the world and immerse yourself in an exploration of the interplay among the body, breath, and mind. Students will move through a gentle asana sequence, which includes techniques for using the breath as a tool to build awareness. All levels welcome.

Vinyasa Flow: Vinyasa classes link together movement and breath to create a 'vinyasa flow’.

10% discounts to age 60 and above on class passes only.

Yoga Party: $200. This option for up to 20 people; Studio available for 3 hours, have the Yoga class of your choice, time to socialize with your friends. You provide the food and drinks; we provide the space and teacher.
